Dutch designer Bauke Knottnerus made the ‘phat knit’ series in 2008. The series of extra-large furniture parts every one look like knitting in a variety of scales. One part features a series of multi coloured strings that can be joined or woven as one, while another consists of a lone giant knot. The knitted parts are in fact made using huge knitting needles. These needles and the extra-large strings can be used to create a diversity of object from carpets to chairs.
